That being said, anything in excess will kill you, including water. Instead of swearing off water because too much of it will kill you I choose to practice restraint and common sense when consuming water to maintain the benefits it provides me.
Both water, and the nutrients found in meat tremendously benefit human development and health. I consume them for that benefit, and do not cut them completely from my diet because consuming them in excess could kill me.
I'd also like to call into question what you said earlier about humans being able to survive exclusively on plants. I could also survive exclusively on chemicals produced in a lab being injected into me. Just because it is possible doesn't mean it's necessarily more healthy than other options.
