Make sure when you gut it you leave proof of sex on it until you've checked it in, and take pics just in case. You can check them in online in TN via the TWRA site so I'd look into that for your stats as well. You can find maps of public land, and if you state has them, wildlife management areas to look at before you go. I'd also try and find someone to go with that's been before just to get an idea of where to go and how to locate food and trails the deer use.
