Well this kinda works. It's a little far back, but definitely workable. I never tried running an actual belt along the waistbelt before.
The gun is secure, but of course when I take the backpack off, the belt comes loose and there's a chance the gun might fall off accidentally while putting the pack back on.
Also, the belt runs behind the backpack's waistbelt where it attaches, via velcro, with the pack body, so now there's a little smaller attachment area there, for whatever that matters. An alternative could be cutting two holes in the waistbelt fabric to fish a belt under the velcro, but I hate to cut into good gear for the sake of a jerry-rigged mod.
