I'm not really interested in getting into making candles just yet, but since these UCO candles are about $1.50 each (and that's when you buy 20 in bulk) I was wondering if I could just buy standard 1" candles and just chop them to the right length. I found a church supply place that sells long 1" thick candles, and it works out to be $0.73 per candle instead of $1.50 which is pretty good. Think they'll still work right in the lantern though? I'd hate to spend like $30 on these and then have them burn all fukt.
