I had some ideas for a barebones out kit
>Clothing and shelter:
- hooded poncho tarp layer (cuben is the best out fabric, but sil or froggs toggs emergency would do)
- belt to turn poncho into a tunic for warmth
- Wind Hard tiny quilt as warmth layer
- wind shirt or arm warmers to cover bare arms
- pants, something like rail riders ecomesh
- sol escape lite as rain kilt and bivy
- e-vent or tyvek gators for marshy conditions
- Belleville mini mil or lizard barefoot boots
>Equipment:
- metal cup with silicon seal lid (cook pot and water bottle)
- roll-up water bladder for longer carries
- lighters and knife
- extra warmth eg down balaclava
- sunscreen and bug nets (if you want skin like Viggo’s)
- navigation
There, now you’re
>wearing your shelter as a rain and warmth layer, arms free
>wearing your bedding as warmth and wind layer
>bivy adds lots of warmth and multifunction
>water bottle is cook pot
>zero packed clothing except spare socks
>most possibles could fit in pockets or bumbag
Now you’re strider mode, just a lot less cool looking. Dye the quilt black and sharpie the poncho if you’re committed
