>>872948Santa Cruz, CA. For fresh water, there is a 6 acre pond open year round but >90% of the bank is inaccessible by foot due to thick vegetation (trees, reeds, etc). There is a nice river but it is only open 3 months of the year and the state can say "nahhh fuck you" and cancel the season for whatever reason. There is a lake in the mountains open 6 months a year with decent freshwater fishing, thats where the bluegill is and I caught my PB bass there ~1.5lbs, probably a dink by most people's standards. The saltwater fishing is plentiful though, I can't complain, there are sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, piers, jetties, you name it. The bay has a great fishery because commiefornia liberals and their extremist environmental policies. This past weekend was the final weekend the lake is open for the year so I'm back 2 the salt until december when I hopefully will get to take a crack at salmon and steelhead, but the past few years it has been closed due to drought. Pic related, it's the average size bass 'round here
>>872946I think most people who bass fish live for the topwater blowup. Catching bass when you can't see them smash the lure is pretty boring desu
