>>358847Speaking from experience, copperheads are not aggressive at all. Most venomous snakes you'll find in the upper Midwest are very tame-mannered. I have seen copperheads poked, prodded, and almost stepped on (quite literally, multiple times), and they did nothing. By contrast, black rat snakes (nonvemonous) will coil up and vibrate their tail against dead leaves (sounds like a rattler) when you poke them with a stick. Don't ask me how I know. Being a Boy Scout in the Midwest, you end up having a lot of free time in camp.
