Tried beechnuts for the first time. The one on the left is American beech from the woods and the larger one on the right is European beech from a park. They both were a basic nutty flavor with a very astringent aftertaste. Probably better if boiled. You never really hear about people eating them because the nutmeat is so small and it takes a bit of effort to remove the seed from the husk.
