i sat down ang got some more technical specs for that rod i showed you
>pic related, my largest fish to date on itappologies for the poor fish handling, i had no good way to land it. i wasn't targeting anything over a pound and wound up cutting my fingers on my line and dropping it on the ground.
back to the rod
it's 7'6'' moderate action and built on a 5 weight fly rod blank. if you twisted my arm and made me write something on it, i'd write "lure weight 3/8oz & under, line weight 2lb-8lb"
i could also do the same thing with a 3 or 4 weight fly rod blank of a similar length and i think that would get you a true ultralight. it'd wind up being a $150 stick that'd pair well with a spinning reel in the 1500-2500 size range. i'll admit right now my wraps aren't perfect and i've only built a few rods but any flaws would be cosmetic; the spine will be lined up, and the guides will be straight and secure.
