That being said, having received it and taken it on a few 5 mile hikes (haven't done any big ones in a while because I back problems), I have to say that this is te BEST backpack I have ever carried in my LIFE.
When I was in the Army, I was Airborne Infatry (11B1P, all the way) and I had a lot f different packs and walked for miles on miles in various terrain. I wish so bad that this had been my ruck.
I don't know it's material but it feels very durable, but that's not my favorite part.
The hip belt system is absolutely perfect. Now, I'm a big guy at 6'1", 230, but when I cinch the hip belts down, there's almost no weight on my shoulders which makes it a dream to carry even the heaviest of loads. I loaded mine with a full 70lbs of gear, compressed all down and tight and man do I love it. I haven't been able to carry that amount of gear in forever.
For $60, I am so happy it's stupid! Get this pack!
