Here in alpine Australia I grow a bunch of finger limes that have no commercial growers but TV chefs and the like froth over them, they're like a really bitter but sweet sort-of-citrus that pops open into little beads that eat like a pomegranate without hard pits. I tried growing kutjeras which are a native tomato analogue but the one plant got destroyed by birds, the half ripe fruit was like crack to rosellas and king parrots
Man if you're in America you should hook into the chilli game. Plant the place out with habanero bushes and find a local apiarist that will pop a few beehives out there and pay you for it. Make chilli infused honey and sell that shit to hipsters. Ah fuck I'm addicted to habanero honey in green tea and I fit the hipster description. Or go into the hot sauce game. Tabasco sauce is literally just tabasco peppers blended with white vinegar and salt and left in wooden barrels to ferment. Come up with a creative name and add something weird to the recipe like a native fruit or herb and profit from dickheads like me that throw money at condiments in glass jars with old-timey labels
