The USA would do well to invest in and do more research for biomethane creation. That is a gargantuan resource that is literally being flushed down the toilet, never to be used. You get biomethane and high nitrogen fertilizer during the digestion process. Pretty much all sewer processing plants can be turned into biomethane generation, electric generation, and fertilizer generation plants. Even rural farms are starting to do this now and many countries are investing into the low technology quite a bit. It even makes the hippies happy because it is "green energy" and the fertilizer is, "organic".
