>>302223Nice setup you got there! You have that nice pond that I'm sure the birds love.. I'm trying to engineer something so that the birds, butterflies, and bees will all like and take out pests and pollinate my crops but I'll need something like a birdbath in the future which would be nice. The birds are loving my yard as theres lots of twigs they have been taking to build their nests since its spring and they're taking out a grub problem too.
That military discount must be nice on top of the sales but definitely look into taking competitors ads (Lowes vs Home Depot) and doing that 'price match guarantee' (they will match prices and then beat the price by an additional 10%). Also, consider that if you buy now with the sales, it will save you money in the long run/next month or additional gas and trips by going big when a major sale like this one is taking place so I wouldn't worry too much about going over a little bit.
I'm reluctant to buy seeds online... not one of the seeds I bought (strawberries, raspberries, wormwood, tansy, society garlic, bee balm) has sprouted yet while I'm getting excellent results with Burpee and store-bought seeds I have no idea why. Home Depot has a 5 herbs for $10 sale as well so I'm thinking of just buying a bee balm plant (normally $3.98 each) and its going at the top of the box in my picture but yeah I need more garden soil to put into it and the red mulch will be used in this box and other areas of my yard. Seeds are growing now. Try different Home Depots like I mentioned... they have different plant suppliers and different varieties. Here, in the Pasadena area, the main ones are Bonnie Plants, Colorama, and Monrovia but when I went to Rancho Cucamonga and Upland, they had Bonnie Plants and two other different nursery suppliers which had interesting results.
Back to the mulch, 3-4 weeks ago, it was 3 for $10, now its 5 for $10 and I couldn't believe it. Its normally $3-$4.50 per bag at different stores too.
