If I were going to be gone a long time, and I need sharpening on the go, I would probably just pack my Spyderco Sharpmaker, or a Work Sharp field sharpener for Scandi ground knives. But like I've said, I've never been away long enough to really have to think of sharpening, besides a few week hikes, but I don't need my knife as much on those.
