>be 16 y/o me>me and my one buddy are getting into le ebin b00shcraft >decide to go innawoods in the trees by our neighborhood and build up a base camp >made a dope but totally non functional shelter out of logs and heaps of dead grass>head out there and hang out honing our woodsmeme skills pretty much every week>lots of batonny and paracord weaving>summer rolls around>everything is super dried out due to no rain and hot sun>buddy decides to bring a ham with us one time>we dig a hole to make a fire to cook the ham>spend about half an hour making sure there's no roots, grass, leaves, twigs, or anything else that the fire could possibly touch>cook the ham>tastiest dang ham we'd ever had>spend another half hour dumping water on the fire and stirring it>do this until we can no longer feel any heat in the ashes>you could literally wring water out of this stuff by the time we got done with it>disperse the soaked ashes into the woods and cover the hole that is now a puddle with dirt>hang out a little longer and then decide to head over to my house and look at b00shcraft on the internet>about an hour passes>look out my window>column of smoke coming out of the woods>fire truck pulls up as close as it can get and guys head in with extinguishers and stuff>me and buddy's hearts have dropped down to our large intestines at this point>we went to all that work to prevent it and we still burnt down the forest>mfw>his fw alsoWe later found out that some other kids had been seen hauling tail out of woods right before the fire started and that the source of the fire was a discarded cigarette about 40 feet from where our camp was. Still scared the tar out of us though. Also, the firemen chainsawed our fort probably thinking it was the same kids who started the fire who had built it.
