These are the 10” Knipex Alligators compared with 10” Irwin Groovelock and 10” old Craftsman I think.
You can see the jaw opening compared to the old school slip joints. You can also see how much less steel the Knipex tools use so they weight quite a bit less, but they have that box joint and good steel so it’s not like you’re losing any strength. You never here any stories about people bending them or shit like that, I haven’t seen any bad reviews of Knipex from people who actually own them.
