It's no big trek but I wanted to try my new shoes (which I posted about in the shoe thread) and went to a local park. "Do not enter during windy weather". I'm being told in Poland this was classified as a hurricane, here in Bratislava it was merely level 3 wind warning. I talked to nobody and spent about an hour just walking around. I have MS and wind does bad pains to me, but I had a hood, ski half-mask and basecap on, if only I take a pair of safety glasses next time I'll be golden.
I used a cheap compass and found it to work well enough. I took a firestarter kit, for no good reason, setting fires is not allowed anyway. I'm thinking about printing out a topo map of the place and just doing lines through it. Or maybe even go up some actual hills.
I'm going to beat SAD this year, even if it kills me.
