You can tie a fly and catch a fish with it, and that alone guarantees my respect.
So, it puzzles me that you've dismissed the possibility that tenkara poles allow for approaches and techniques that simply aren't possible wth reel fly rods or cane poles can. I suspect you're suffering from some reel rod elitism. All three can do things the other two can't, which is why I use all of them.
As a versatility fisherman, you really ought to try one.
