And by bottom of the barrel, I mean nobody taught you anything from the get go. Shitloads of trial and error trips, endless watching of YouTube videos to learn the basic shit, etc. It seems like everyone I know in real life had that "one uncle" that had a 60ft Contender they'd been fishing on since they were 6 years old and could tie a FG knot blind.
