I'm kinda new to cooking outside and i bought a stove like pic related a few weeks ago, because I thought oh that's cool I don't have to carry any fuel. But I was wrong, I tried it a few times and it's fucking shit.
Why would you use this over any liquid fuel stove?
First you have to spend time getting wood (you could just make a real fire while you're already gathering wood lol) and you need a lot of small sticks and i mean a lot, because they'll burn down in a minute so you have to keep shoving new ones in the stove. Try cooking when you have to constantly put new wood in the stove, makes it a stressful experience imo.
To be honest, I'm not the best at making fires and it was wet most of the time I used it, so maybe that's why I had a hard time using it, but even despite that you make a big mess and have to clean the stove and your cooking pot afterwards.
Again I don't see why you would ever use this, it's fucking heavy as well.
Anyways I'm ordering an alcohol stove right now.
