>>2638797Hello I usually post in the fishing general I was hoping for pest advice. I’m in Florida and these fuckers are everywhere. My neighborhood is overrun. I’ve seen neighbors actually pay iguana pest services to come to their house. But they’re always back within a few months.
I’m not paying someone to do something that won’t be permanent when I can do it myself, but realistically I’m not sure what my options are.
>small game co2 rifleSounds fun if I can get headshots off and not have 50 iguanas running off in pain to die slowly elsewhere (dead iguana smells horrific).
>trapsI wouldn’t even do a snare or one of those little raccoon cage traps, I would get a portable deer blind and alter the entrance into a sort of funnel and fill it with bananas and the other shit they love to eat. I’ve seen this done. But then I’d have around 10 iguanas to deal with. Still leaves me with the issue of disposal.
HOWEVER the biggest problem, I could spend today killing them and probably get 100 just form my backyard. And within a month they’d be replaced by new ones. That’s the real issue. I can’t make an impact. This time every year the fuckers start mating and they’ll dig like 5 holes and all of them will share these 5 burrows to lay their eggs in, so that when they hatch in a few months there’s no bullshit hundreds of babies crawling out at a time. I’ve tried filling the holes in with rocks, destroying any eggs in them, but they just make new holes in more secretive locations. I genuinely do t know what to do.
They’ve eaten my pepper plants, they cause damage to the pool which is an unnecessary bill to have to pay.. I can’t grow new peppers or other food for myself with them around
