General axe making thread, but also
I've scoured auction after auction, and yet prices are too high for axe heads. I've already assembled and hung many axes but I'm looking specifically for a oschenkopf champion axe head. They use the axe in the Stihl timbersports, yet the price for it is too expensive for a broke college student.
Its not ideal, but an axe head of similar pattern and weight would be nice, but I can find that on my own, I just need to know where to look. Ebay is popular, but too much so, so kelly perfects end up selling for $200. All the prices are fucking astronomical on ebay, and every other auction I've seen just redirects to Ebay. I haven't seen any separate axe heads sold on amazon, and companies just sell their heads already on their dogshit handles.
Does anyone know a good website for getting an axe head just by itself?
