What about like living in a van? Like, save up a bunch of cash, buy a utility van and make it comfy place to sleep/camp and then just drive around. Go south during the winter, then during summer just do whatever.
The only flaws I can find are
>getting a steady source of food
Cooking it is not really an issue, just getting it.
>staying clean
I was thinking maybe strap a big water tank on top of the van and get a hose/shower head and just find a private place in the woods to rinse off. You could scoop water out of the tank for other purposes. A problem with that is, where the fuck are you supposed to get the water? Maybe a lake or stream then filter it?
>not getting caught
I hear living in your car is illegal in some states?
I was thinking about doing this, in case of extreme emergency. Then just ride around visiting swap meets/flea markets buying, repairing and then reselling knick knacks and old collector's electronics but it's still something you'd have to be quite invested in and you'd have to have some pretty good /out/ knowhow but I don't see why it'd be impossible to live a decent, hell maybe even a good life in a caravan. I dunno OP. Homeless-homeless is a totally different ballpark. No home base, barely any supplies, can't keep multiple possessions (pleasure or survival) on you. If I were gonna live the free life I'd do it in a van.
cargovanconversion dot cum has some pretty neato ideas for making a "luxury" apartment out of a van. But like I said, you'd need a few years and a lot of monies to prepare for something like that. Or you could go the rustic route and not spend much money but you're survival skills better be honed.
