>>451411I'm a farmer. I prep for storms and power outages. One year in the mid 1990s I couldn't even get out of my driveway for a month, was without electrical power for 24 days, and natural gas for 2 weeks then. I flushed the toilet with melted snow. But, I always have 6 months worth of food at all times and a wood stove. Every year the power goes out for a couple weeks usually. Sometimes in the winter and sometimes in the summer. I have everything I need to survive completely isolated for an exceptionally long time.
For trips or just traveling long distances, I always bring a few emergency kits. One big one can be back in my vehicle. One at base camp and one carry-on. Each has a few hooks and some line in them as well as standard medical stuff, fire making tools, etc. I'm thinking about adding snares too. I just need to get more practice in with them before I'd want to rely on them in a survival situation. For those trips, I get a prepaid cellphone, just in case, but most of the time there's no cell coverage anyway and I can't afford a sat phone, yet at least.
As for what I eat? Mostly what I farm, catch, and hunt. I always pack all my food on trips too. But, if you really want to project onto me, go ahead. It won't affect what I already do.
