>>519889>Has anyone else had something similar happen?No... but but that kind of idiocy reminds me of some boating close calls...One I was trolling a crankbait once over a rock reef in a rowboat one afternoon, and a speedboat full of morons towing a kid in an innertube comes roaring up by me WAY too close. I knew what was coming, jammed my rod tip as deep under water as I could but it was no use. Prop picked up my line... VVVVVVVRPT! ripped out all 120 yards of line in seconds. I gave them the finger, but doubt they even understood wtf they had just done.
Another time just a week ago was fishing from a canoe near an area (pic related) between an island and point where boats like to pass through. They're supposed to slow to 5mph with no wake like 500 yards before and after. As I'm fishing notice a cruise approaching at full speed about a half mile out from me, headed directly at me, about 1/4 mile out. Then 1000 ft, still full speed directly at me. Then 500 ft, 300, 200, at this point I fucking jump up to my feet and wave arms over my head as high as I can and am literally ready to jump ship. Guy slows and turns just about 100 yards away. Went through the channel at full speed.
Fucking boaters. /rant
