They have the basic parts liners, bolsters, blade, button lock mechanism, screws, etc. You screw everything together. The steel comes sanded to a 600 grit finish with the blade sharpened so you can "just" make custom scales, attach them and stop there like I did, or do more, like a custom spine, mirror finish, add a safety, spring assist, etc. Pic related is same knife.
They're decent quality imo, tight consistent tolerances. My only criticism is they don't sell a safety for them, so you have to make your own if you want one. Without it, since they're button lock folders they can't be carried in a pocket.
