Northern lower peninsula native here. Admittedly, everything bellow traverse city sort goes downhill, but, northern Michigan is fucking great. The east Jordan river valley is one of my main stomping grounds. It's pretty easy to find privacy there in what is a relatively large area. I've camped in Empire on the sleeping bear dunes overlooking Lake Michigan, I've also camped on undeveloped parts of Lake Michigan near charleviox. Then Theres north manitou island, the north country trail, and the coast to coast trail from lake Michigan to lake Erie. I mean fuck. It's a buffet.
Just find some state land nigga. Have at it.
