I have been using various desk lamps to grow some herbs because im too stingy and lazy to spend more on growing lights. Would either of these bulbs be appropriate for keeping my herbs alive during the winter? Right now they are just being used for some tarragon - I don't need it to thrive and grow huge, I just want it to live through the winter indoors.
I ask because when I was doing my large fluorescent grow setup, I was told to aim for 8000K + but these bulbs claim to be only 2700K and 3000K, way too cool in my totally non-expert opinion.
Can I manage with either of these or should I look into some growing bulbs? Could I get single bulbs cheaply enough to make it worth it or should I just spend a couple hundred on a grow setup?
