For large sections of flat water I often find purposefully listing the balance to one side (not radically but certainly noticeably) helps me track easier. If a canoe needed perfect lateral balance to function no one who put their kids, buddies, and dogs in one would ever survive
My advice is to do the two easiest fixes first:
1. Take it out and see if it effects your ability to have a good time. My guess is you’ll be thinking about your rod tip a lot more
2. Put it up on level saw horses on the next hot day. Wait until peak heat and spray it down with a hose. The sudden contraction usually is enough to straighten out my boats
