The flood water are below the roads now. I got my license renewed. I drove around looking at the water. Everything is brown and muddy including all the lakes in the area. Turtles and catfish are all that's on the menu.
I stopped at some dollar stores on the way home. Everyone is restocking after xmas and everything was 75% off. So, I got some stuff I thought I could make flies and lures with.
First test runs are hopeful. The party beads are a great find. I'll have bead eyes for bass lures for a life time now. I bought 2 Altoids tins for small fly boxes.
>tfw no one had foam of any kind anywhereGuess, I'll have to order some...
>>924067Very nice. You may also like the Gartside Gurgler and Crease Fly patterns for sheet foam. Though the latter is normally painted or air brushed.
>>924093>welcome to the madness.This. So much this. Same goes for homebrewing, gardening, regular fishing, and most diy hobbies.
>>924040Have you personally seen carp in those waters and were you chumming while fishing? With most chumming you can stay in one spot fishing for about 20-30 mins for carp and 15-20 for channel cat. If you don't start slaying them within that amount of time, move to a new spot or depth.
