>>1712696>>1712696What part of the world? In a lot of places you will find rough cairns, they are often built be shepherds to help with nav. Those guys take some pretty crazy routes. Not all cairns are bad. Some are o l d. In Jordan some canyons have them throughout and are built by the camel/goat herders to find their way through them or to mark the best places to dig for water.
Pic related. Sadly you can't see the cairns in the image, but this canyon get interupted by a huge waterfall, there were rough cairns that loosely marked the best way around and down it. They were built be goat herders as they move their flocks through it.
