>>880609It totally depends what you are fishing for and how deep you want to run the bait. Sometimes lighter is better because it will fall really slow and look natural. Other times you want to go heavy when the wind is picking up and you want to get the bait down deep before the wind takes it.
With a light rod, 1000 size reel, 6lb braid and a 4lb leader, you will probably be using anything from 1/32oz up to 1/4oz. Anything heavier than 1/4oz should be thrown on a heavier combo.
