>>1709250So, am back. Was kinda worried that it would fall off board.
Does anyone have a 'triple sensor' Casio?
Mostly ProTrek and it's also in some G-shocks that have the baro-temp-compass combo.
How good are they?
I would guess the compass can't really replace a proper one, if you really need it for navigation, but what about elevation/barometer?
The vid on this site (
https://www.protrek.eu/de/technologie/barometer/ don't worry about the krautspeak, the vid is international) confuses me. I get why you adjust elevation, since the watch doesn't know if the pressure changed because of an elevation change or because of a weather change, but why do they adjust the pressure on the watch? Isn't that supposed to be an absolute value?
Like if there's a pressure of 1019hPa then every barometer that's worth anything should show this value. In fact, all the barometers I know don't even have an option to adjust them (if you ignore servicing it, when the mechanism has aged and shows off readings).
WTF is going on there?
does that mean those watches are worthless, and the sensor is just a stupid gimmick, or do I misunderstand air pressure?
Also, how do all those dozens of functions work with such a tiny display as on pic related?
