Ive lived in vans and cars on and off for about 4 years. Best advice is get a big water jug with a tap to drink from, a big bottle to piss in; usb fans, a decent mattress and sheets, slap it down. If its too hot make a hole in the roof for an extraction fan and another at the rear of the van to pump fresh air in. Flexible solar slim-line and a couple batteries to keep the fans going.
A cott is fine in summer but the edge poles can get annoying. Fuck sleeping bags right off in summer.

You can avoid all of these problems by buying a hybrid like say a Prius V as the idle wont fuck the engine up and hardly drinks fuel. You will be way stealthier too. The engine kicks in every 5-10 mins sure but if any cops or karens knock and ask you to move just say you are drunk and need a couple hours before driving….

BUT if you’re just sleeping in it, ask yourself do you REALLY need the rear seats and passenger seat? If no, almost ANY car will do.

Apparently the best car for cold asf climates (minus the 4x4 capability) is a Prius since it sips fuel and can run the heater off the batteries.
As for 4x4, just get the total measurements from front (feet go here) to back of the car (head goes there) and anything will do imo.

I had a Mazda Speed 3 I camped in the USA and it was fine.

Only do it if you have a job online, can handle taking showers and shits in gyms nobody knows you in and can work on your own vehicle with absolute confidence.
