in recurve a release is how you let go of the arrow and it literally happens in combonation with your overall form
if you have great form on recurve and everything lines up straight and your release is bad you may miss.
you could have a great release and be under or over extended and still miss
you could have a great release and cant your bow slightly and miss.
cant find a good example aside from this thumbnail but when you shoot on recurve you dont just stop holding the arrow you have to let go of it a certain way so it shoots properly
that's what a release is on recurve
