/k/ommando here. I wanna teach myself to skin, gut, and cook small game and I'll be starting with groundhogs because there's a bunch in the area. I contemplated taking squirrels but read they aren't as reliably safe to eat as groundhog. I'll be using an AR-15 and 55gr FMJ because it's all I have on hand. I got two questions:
1) Where should I aim for the most humane shot while ruining the least amount of meat possible? Head? Neck? Front torso?
2) What should I look for in a skinning knife? What should I avoid? How much should I expect to spend for a not-shit one?
