>>467250Sure. 1st, get 30lbs fatter. Then you'll be able to pack less food with you if you ration it properly. Your body will eat up the excess fat you've stored to make up for the loss in calories. You can lose almost 1 pound a day without harming your health. However, consult a doctor before doing things with your body if you have health issues.
Take a look at dehydrated meats and vegetables. It is super light and all you need is some boiling water or eat it raw depending on what it is.
The normal mainstays for dry veggies are,
legumes (beans, peas, lentils, peanuts, etc)
whole grains (oats, rice, wheat, barely, teff, corn, etc)
Nuts & Seeds (sunfower seeds, walnuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, etc.)
Then there's dehydrated veggies, fungi and fruits,
Pumpkin, potato, peppers, sea vegetables(chlorella, kelp, wakame, etc), carrots, sunchoke, kale, mushrooms, etc.
Then the waterless fats, like lard, tallow, and vegetable oils.
Then there are dehydrated meats like pemmican, jerky, and biltong. There's also dehydrated and powdered eggs.
>>467257>For the average male you're looking at around 2lb/day to maintain a normal diet.Highly debatable. Here's a terrible stat for you. The average American ate 1,996 pounds in 2011. That's an average of 5.47lbs per day. I can't even fathom eating that much, holy shit.
The reason it is debatable is due mostly to water content. Which is why I highly recommend dehydrated foods for long term hiking where you can't source your food locally or can't fully depend on local sources for whatever reason. You can reduce weight up to 3-10 times depending on the food item. It can turn your 50lbs of food into only 5lbs to 16lbs depending on content. If you have a water source anywhere, you are set, otherwise, you'll need to pack only edible-without-water dehydrated foods.
