Which means, assuming I leave at first light and get back at last light I'd get about 3 hours total of actual fishing in this time of year, maybe 6 hours at the height of summer
>make shelter on islandsThe islands aren't very solid ground. 15 minutes of standing in one spot and I'd broken through the vegetation crust and sank shin deep. We were using commercial bread trays to stand on to prevent sinking. No trees big enough for a hammock and short wiry plants that would shred a tent means a tarp shelter with no floor.
