I live in Greece and I went to hike the Panachaiko peak. I travelled around the villages nearby and I found the path the local hiking organisation made. I followed the paths but eventually a very thick fog came upon the moutain, with a 2 meter visibility radius.
I kept following the markers they had left on the stones, but eventually due to the snow and the aging of the paint, they seemed to end. Since my goal was to reach the peak, I decided to just go up. I overestimated my orientation in the heavy fog and after I reached what seemed like the peak, I lost myself. Without any supplies to last in the night and freezing, I decided to head downwards in the hope of reaching a clear spot and finding my way.
I couldn't find my original pathing and I ended up having to scale down rocky cliffs with 3-10 meter gaps every 5 minutes of advancing. Forced to drop down ledges, slide down hills of rocks and having my soles come off, night was coming and as I managed to escape the dangerous descent, I realized I got on the other side of the mountain. It was getting dark and there were no roads around me, just woods and lots of rocks and pebbles all around.
I was a fool and I kept advancing despite the fog, so I ended up like this. What would /out/ do in my situation?
