I’ve tried washing with dish soap, soaking in vinegar, and then a baking soda paste but nothing took it off. Actually I think my attempts made the whole thing look cloudier and smelled like vinegar until i went over it with baking soda.
The internet has some info about polishing but those are small, tumbled stones so I’m not looking at the right info since this is a hefty rock.
