>>360558Turned out that my friend's family had rented this sweet hunting lodge on the Marr estate (makes up around about 7% of the total of the Cairngorm National Park). So we ended up doing one ~35km day including Ben Macdui (2nd highest mountain in the UK, losing out to Ben Nevis by 35m). Weather was a bit too shitty today to do another and I got called home because some admin shit wasn't processed properly for an exchange I'm going on next year, so no chance to do any more (unfortunately).
But I'll post a few pics from our hike.
>>361091I know. I've walked most of the routes in and around Deeside. We had pretty much perfect weather though (except I got slightly sunburnt on the back of my legs where I missed a spot)
>>361095The place we stayed was incredible. First time I've really stayed in a proper building whilst hiking, always been a tent sort of guy. But this place was this sweet, wood-panelled interior hunting lodge. Antlers all over the place, incredible views from the dining table, huge bathrooms.
Made me think I've perhaps been doing it wrong all these years.
