This really irks me, if you can't pick up something like a knife or a hatchet or put on a piece of clothing or whatever else and not know at least roughly what it'd be capable of you really shouldn't be in a situation where there isn't somebody else to stop you fucking yourself or your stuff up.
This attitude of 'if you're not a real camper unless you're in the yukon for 3 months' needs to be stopped really badly.
