>>1722635As an actual army sniper, I think the best advice to give you is to become proficient at target detection. It allows you to develop a sense and eye for what is natural and what sticks out, so you know what to avoid to prevent detection of yourself.
Also, be aware of your environment and surroundings. For example, that shade might look like it will conceal you better, but if the background is lighted in the background, then you could end up as a silhouette.
Lastly, I highly recommend learning how to draw. I've been doing so for years, giving me better knowledge on how objects react to different environmental factors, especially lighting and what not.
