Now the image I've provided has a lot of guesses, the whole orange split is speculation. This is because (as expected) OP is a fag and not giving us any real information.
Anyway, he should be heading east of the line here, he can follow the coast or the roads but the reality is the coastal towns begin to dry up from here.
When he gets to the edge of this map though EVERYTHING dries up. The towns in the wheat belt where OP is about to enter are (conveniently) one day walk apart. After that though, due to settlement patterns, the towns become one day's DRIVE apart.
I hope OP rests us when he gets to Esperance (off map) and plans properly because he is entering the death zone from then on.
