I have never had a 'reputable' brand fail on me as frequently as fiskars/gerber... Thank god i was never in a situation where i relied on them. Splitting logs and clearing brush at the cottage is a great place to test their shit, to see just how crappy it is while still only being a 1 hour drive away from getting a replacement blade or handle.
Their folding(even though its a sliding OTF) saw, btw, is the epitome of 'useless crap'. Its advertised as a survival light backpacking tool, but the plastic is so brittle, and the saw of such low metal quality, that it cant get through a 4" gum tree.
