I recommend the coldsteel bushman bowie.
One piece solid piece of steel. It comes with a nice sheath, handle can be used as storage without the stub tang drawback.
Can be mounted on long stick to turn it into a spear (A spear is a superb melee weapon. it's built to withstand being thrown but you don't do that in a survival situation due to risk of loss) or a short one if you want to clear brush.
It has an acute tough edge, a comfy handle and is super flexible, allowing for abuse like batoning.
