>>1367443Nope. Interstate commerce is inviting trouble also I'm sure that market is absolutely flooded.
>>1367445Butchering a cow would be a huge job. I've done deer and moose before and it's real work especially without proper tools (crane and bandsaw). Most importantly you really need to age meat some for it to be any decent for eating, ideally you have a climate controlled walk-in refrigerator just for that. Pretty sure resting/aging is critical for taste and texture.
I personally don't have space or use for 1000 pounds of beef either. Even with a big family you'd be hard pressed eating that in under a couple years and you'd need a lot of freezer space (and that extra expense of electricity).
So assuming I got a cow I'd want to sell 3/4 of it and it would need to look like it came from a butcher for people to pay a fair price.
I picked up a tenon cutter set this year and plan to build a lot more "primitive" furniture. did this bed frame out of some leftover logs from repairing the house, some saplings I cut down around the yard, and some cherry that a buddy of mine had milled on his land. Got a shitload of 2-4" diameter rock maple up here I just need to drop a bunch of it and stack it somewhere to dry and debark and make some projects out of next year.
