Actually, that reminds me of something my buddy was telling me. Turns out mariachi music came from Poland and Germany. The Mexicans loved the accordion and horn music that got brought over, so they created their own genre of it. Years later, Mexicans immigrated to the Yugoslavian region, and revitalized the areas old musical traditions, which in turn spawned the offchute genre "turbo folk", which is what you hear in all those Yugoslavian war genocide songs.
I have no idea if this is actually true, but my buddy told me, so I choose to believe it.
