Bit of a bitch really as the inside of the piece of wood (visible on the one in the foreground) is rather pretty. However, there's an annoying little bit of soft rot type wood on the pretty side of the one in the background that's too deep to sand past without losing all the pretty. I can't figure out a way round it so I'm gonna put them pretty side in and hope that when i finally shape the handle it'll reveal some of the more interesting grain near the centre. It's gonna be a thin handle.
