>>473087>>473055I share OP's pain with this forum, back when I was a starry eyed 'muh outdoors' nwb I used to visit this place, and post a lot. then come in the waves of 'can't do this, can't do that...' from all the old farts who buy a fuckton of kit during a mid life cisis to go for a half mile walk on a Sunday afternoon, make a hot drink on 'muh trangia' , take a few picture of some ridiculously overpriced hand made 01 shank, and then come home so they can brag about 'being a bushcrafter, and outdoorsy' when they hit the grind again on Monday.
If you ask any of them what they are on about, or why, all you get a a mechanical repetition of ' leave no trace' and similar shit. I've asked several pertinent question over the years, as far as asking show me in the legislation where is says that I cannot do xyz.... and none of the fucks will say a word. Its become a circle jerk for guys wanting escapism ( in a land where thereis fuck all wilderness, the UK is mostly either populated, used for livestock, or a developed arable land) . Every twat has the 'reply' function keybound and they will tell you about how you 'should' bushcraft earnestly as though they lived in 1830 blazin the Oregon trail. Every old boy is also a fuckin barrister, who knows more about the ins and outs of 'knife carry' which they will hotlink dead threads on British Blades forum in a heartbeat. BCUK has very little to offer other than potential craftsmen wanting to show off their wares in hope of gaining custom now ( yup you guessed it, knives or leatherwork pretty much exclusively!)
Every outdoors group I'm a member of on FaceFuck is ' anyone know any good places I can go 'bshcraaaaaaftin'- to every one I respond with a fuck off, go and get off your arse and look. Just because I know a few ( and mean a few) 'good' places for a bit of peace and quiet does't mean I'm going to pipe up on a 6k+ member group with gps co-ords for every fucker to decent and wreck the place . That pisses me off no end
